Hostas - a start

In past post I mentioned hostas....It was a very hectic year and I didn't accomplish nearly what I should have but here is the start of my hosta beds.

Rabbit Time

It has been well over a year now since I got my first rabbit.  Time to share some pictures of my babies.   From the top to the bottom introducing:
Ginny (Gin)
Rum (Rummuel) - yes he is sticking his tounge out at the camera!
Vodka
Margarita
Margarita's Kits

I have two new additons - the are Broken Red New Zealand (pics coming soon).  They are Scotch and Brandi

It's 2013, it's time to get back to blogging.  This is my second year in Wisconsin, my flower beds are progressing, but still a ton of work to go.  I have a few new pictures to show (ok, maybe more than just a few)  that will show the progresson from last years pictures.

I have also taken up a few additional 'activities' - raising meat rabbits and worm composting, all of which will add additional topics for me to rattle on about.

Look for the blogging to begin........

Miscellanous flower beds

side of the garage

                                                                    front of house

                                                                      more of the front.

The side yard

A three part view of the side yard from my bedroom window.

Sabine Bauer - daylily

A piece of perfection!

I have changed my focus a bit.

I love daylilies that has not, and will not change.  I will also include a new focus on unique and different varieties of hostas.  Watch for pictures to come.

Wineberry Candy - daylily

I'm not much into Pink but this is quite a perfect bloom.

Daylily Bed

Here is the upper half of my far side yard, my daylily bed.

A little less grass = a new bed.

This is a new bed I started this year in my side yard.  My side yard is clearly visable from my bedroom window.  A great view to start the day.  If you haven't noticed I do live in Wisconsin as you can tell my neighbors have a grill cover with the big red 'W'.

Ruffled Ruby - daylily

New plant - a ton of blooms!

Siloam Peony Display - daylily

A new double added to my collection.  This is a small to mid size daylily - so bring to the front of your flower bed to enjoy the full effect of this charmer.

Love Those Eyes - daylily

Mary Brown - daylily

 A bronze double!

Calico Jack - daylily

Another new variety - huge flowers.

Boarder Patrol - Daylily

New and now a favorite of mine

New Daylilies

I found a great online site for unique (and reasonably priced) daylilies.

www.gilberthwild.com

They are great quality.

It's been a long time.

I regret to say it has been sometime since I have posted to this blog.  I hope to be more diligent in the future.

White Lilac

With fall here and winter on the way thought I would bring out some pics to get you thinking about next spring.  A Lilac bush can take up considerable space.  If you are limited on space you might want to think about trimming it in the form of a tree with the major branch as the trunk and continue trimming off all 'sucker' stems and shoots.
